Thecar has a proper Alfa Romeo warranty for 12 months, which sounds quite comprehensive. I'm just worried that every three years the car's gonna need a timing chain kit. Maybeyour old thermostat was faulty. Had a problem with jts whereby the temp gauge was showing 50 all the time which meant the engine wasn't running at right temp. Replaced thermostat and it then cycled between 70 and 90. 🍀 JTS ran a lot better at right temp. I guess that if ecu thinks it's cold it will run the engine a bit rich

Themain issues are engine oil consumption and selespeed. as it's a used car, try to ask the dealer to let u send to the Alfa workshops in Sin Ming for a thorough check. At the same time, give the agent a call to enquire on the history. i don't recommend the STA inspection route. If you can't get it inspected at Alfa workshops, don't buy.
Updateon this issue. I took the car down to "Gareth" at Northern Alfa, my preferred Alfa specialist and he's checked it out pretty comprehensively and confirms that it is indeed an injector at fault. The car has good compression on all cylinders, good spark on all plugs and no fuel at cylinder 1.
